SOUND FAMILIAR?

Small gaps cause big trouble.

The tub caulk is pulling away. There's a draft by the window trim. Gaps let water and air in — and water always wins eventually.

We cut out failed caulk and lay clean new beads around tubs, sinks, trim, and windows. Small job, watertight result.

Caulking & Sealing, with care.

Renew worn surface caulking around appropriate household fixtures and trim. Start with a description of the problem, a few photos, and any materials you already have. We’ll review the work and discuss a practical next step.

Projects to discuss

  • Tub surroundsOld tub and shower caulk removed and replaced with smooth, mold-resistant lines.
  • Countertop edgesSink and backsplash joints re-sealed against splashes and spills.
  • Interior gapsTrim, window, and baseboard gaps filled for a finished look and fewer drafts.

Look beyond the worn surface seal

Show the full joint and any gaps or staining. Tell us whether there has been a recurring leak or persistent dampness so the underlying concern is not overlooked.

A sensible scope, with clear limits

Fresh caulk is not a substitute for repairing a leak, failed waterproofing, or rotted material. Product cure times may limit when the area can be used again.

How long does new caulk last?+

Several years with normal care. We use mold-resistant products in wet areas and show you how to keep them fresh.

Is this a mold problem or a caulk problem?+

We'll tell you honestly when we look. Surface mildew on old caulk is normal; anything deeper gets flagged, not covered up.

What should I send with my request?+

Include close-up and wider photos, approximate dimensions, your town, and your preferred timing. Don’t include private medical details or sensitive information.

Are materials included?+

Material requirements and who supplies them are agreed as part of the quote. Matching existing finishes may depend on what products are available.

Can this be combined with other small jobs?+

Tell us about the full list. We can review which jobs fit together, rather than assuming every repair needs a separate visit.

HOW IT WORKS

Three steps. No runaround.

  1. 1. Call or request a quote. Tell us what's on the list — a phone call is perfect, photos help but aren't required.
  2. 2. We confirm fit and a flat price. We'll tell you honestly if the job suits a handyman visit, and quote it flat before anyone rolls a truck.
  3. 3. One tidy visit, then a walkthrough. Shoe covers on, walkways kept clear, and we walk the finished work with you before we leave.

WHY STEADY

Why neighbors call us back.

Local Kensington crew.

We're based in Kensington — Berlin, New Britain, and central CT are our neighbors, not a service radius on a map.

We confirm fit before booking.

If a job needs a specialist instead of a handyman, we'll tell you straight and point you right.

Tidy is part of the job.

Drop cloths, daily cleanup, and a final walkthrough where you check everything before we pack up.

HONEST NUMBERS

What does it usually cost?

A VISIT THAT FITS YOUR HOME

Know what happens before anyone gets started.

We begin by understanding your priority and checking whether the task is suitable for a handyman visit. Photos and dimensions can help, but a phone conversation is a perfectly good place to start.

Before the visit, agree who will supply parts, how the working area will be accessed, and who can approve the work. Tell us about pets, fragile belongings, or times when the household needs quiet.

Once the agreed work is complete, ask for a walkthrough and any instructions about drying, curing, weight limits, or using newly fitted items. If another trade or specialist is needed, that should be part of the conversation.
